Gentle jaw relaxation and its limits

A resting cue is different from jaw training or treatment.

What this option actually does

The Jaw relaxation setting invites you to notice unnecessary clenching, allow your teeth to separate slightly and return to an easy resting position. There is no wide opening, resisted chewing or pressure into the joint. It is a simple attention cue within a short self-care session.

Use a comfortable position

Sit with your head supported by a natural posture. Do not hold your chin forward to watch the countdown. Let the jaw settle without forcing it down. If trying to “relax correctly” makes you tense, stop following the cue and return to your ordinary rest position.

Know the boundary

NIDCR describes jaw disorders as a group of conditions with different causes and symptoms. An online routine cannot determine which, if any, applies to you. Pain, locking or limited movement needs assessment; this tool does not replace a prescribed exercise or dental plan. It also does not promise a sharper jawline.

Keep a useful question for your clinician

If you notice discomfort, describe when it occurs and which action brings it on. That is more useful than choosing a stronger exercise from a beauty menu. Follow your clinician’s specific advice if it differs from this general routine, and avoid repeating a step that provokes symptoms.
